Outside Sales Representative - Texas

Caprock Rentals is seeking a motivated Outside Sales Representative to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is driven, organized, and comfortable building new business while maintaining strong customer relationships. This role will focus on expanding our presence in the San Antonio and Austin markets, while supporting opportunities across Texas and beyond as we continue to grow.

This is a hybrid, field-based position that requires strong communication skills, technical awareness, and the ability to manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to project setup.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development & Sales:

  • Actively prospect and generate new business opportunities within target markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, project managers, and key decision-makers.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through closing and follow-up.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales goals and performance expectations.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Maintain regular communication with existing and potential clients.
  • Provide timely follow-up on all leads, quotes, and customer inquiries.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through responsiveness and professionalism.

Quoting & Proposals:

  • Prepare and deliver clear, professional, and detailed quotes using company systems.
  • Customize proposals to align with customer needs and project requirements.
  • Track open quotes and opportunities to ensure proper follow-up and closure.

CRM & Systems Management:

  • Utilize company CRM (Prexa) to manage leads, opportunities, and customer data.
  • Keep all sales activities, notes, and follow-ups accurately documented.
  • Monitor and manage open orders, quotes, and pipeline activity.

Field Work & Project Support:

  • Conduct site visits to assess customer needs and recommend solutions.
  • Assist with system setups and deployments when required.
  • Support delivery and setup of equipment, including trailers and surveillance systems, as needed.
  • Work alongside technicians on certain installations depending on project scope and location.

Technology & Communication:

  • Use tools such as Excel, Word, and email to create professional communications and reports.
  • Leverage modern tools, including AI, to improve efficiency, communication, and presentation quality.
  • Utilize design software (such as CCTV layout tools) to create site plans and camera placement proposals.
  • Deliver presentations and product overviews to customers as needed.

Planning & Organization:

  • Develop and submit weekly sales plans and activity reports.
  • Effectively manage time, travel, and territory coverage.
  • Stay organized with scheduling, follow-ups, and task management.

Travel:

  • Travel within the San Antonio and Austin areas regularly.
  • Occasional travel throughout Texas and out of state, including overnight stays.
  • Ability to travel by air when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience & Skills:

  • Previous experience in outside sales, business development, or a related field.
  • Experience in the equipment rental industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience using CRM systems or ability to quickly learn.

Technical & Field Awareness:

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and on active job sites.
  • Ability to assist with equipment setup when required.
  • Forklift and aerial lift experience is a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary starting around $55,000 depending on experience
  • Commission structure with strong earning potential
